Since atheists don't use origins or facts, they don't have a clue, only errant OPINION.

But if you WERE to discover the origin of the Earth, it would be one single continent (now called Pangea, surrounded by water like a huge island, now accepted worldwide by geologists. See Alfred Wegener's 1915 book, The Origin of Continents and Oceans.

If you use origins, the Earth was very flat at the surface w/o any tectonic forces to create uplift for mountain forming. There were no multiple continents colliding yet, causing subduction.

This just in: FOX News: Rare diamond reveals Earth's interior is all wet

More than just a place of molten rock, earth’s mantle apparently harbors a watery zone able to hold an ocean of water. Aside from this, geologists already knew there is more subsurface brine than all the oceans, so it's uncertain which of your errant presuppositions I'm addressing, like "enough water".

What is the profound significance of this discovery? It confirms the capacity of the mantle to have housed the water that was released when the fountains of the great deep were broken up to commence the Flood, and the huge volume of water that was released through these fountains for as much as 150 days, providing more than enough water to help submerge the whole globe, just as described in Genesis 7:11–24.

    Proof enough.

But, but, but, "where did the water go after the Great Flood?"

Plate tectonics not only caused an upthrusting of the continents at subduction zones, but tore apart the ground between the continents causing deep ravines, like the Marianna Trench, measured In 2010 by the US Center for Coastal & Ocean Mapping at 36,000 ft -- 7 miles deep!

The Marianna Trench is 1,600 miles long, and that's just one of the ones we know about. Thrust the mountains up, lower the basins and trenches; ah, we found the water in question. It's still there

    Where Did the Floodwaters Go?

Evidently they are right here on earth. Today there is about 1.4 billion cu km of water on the earth. It covers more than 70 percent of the globe’s surface.

The average depth of the oceans is 2.5 mi; average elevation of the land is only 0.5 mi above sea level.

If the earth’s surface was smoothed out, it would all be covered with water to a depth of 8,000 ft

I watched this movie last night. It makes several excellent points. Why Earth is 70 percent water?

The point I was making still stands and you even added an extra percent. Thanks!

It is true that if the earth were a smooth spheroid the surface would be under 2.5 km of water (that's more than 1.5 miles).

However, the earth has never been a smooth spheroid, and there is no geological evidence to believe it has ever been.

Creationists are stupid, if there is enough water on earth right now to cover the earth, why aren't we covered?

If there were no mountains or deep trenches, there would be enough water to cover the Earth but as there are mountains and trenches, there isn't. There is no possible scenario for rain to fall all over the Earth at the same time nor is there any scenario that would allow rain to fall in any one area continuously for forty days and nights.

There is no evidence at all for Noah's flood and plenty of evidence that it never happened. Tree rings, lake varves, coral reef cores and Antarctic ice cores all show a complete lack of a global flood. This, by the way, is accepted by theists and atheists alike including all the mainline Christian churches. Science is for everyone.
