my land line phone has no dialing tone?

    Check the line with a multimeter.

    There should be about 48 to 52 volts DC on it with no phone connected.

    If the voltage is there, the phone or its cord needs attention.

    Otherwise, check the wire leading to the jack.

    If you aren't handy with this kind of thing,

    get a professional to do it.

    Hmmm.....that could mean:

    1. You didn't pay your phone bill

    2. Your phone has stopped working

    3. There is a disconnection between your phone and the main hub, back at the phone company's building.

    Because nobody uses land line anymore
