It's not weird. English departments have plenty of male majors. Where did you get that idea?

Tell anyone who thinks it's weird that for the past 10 years, English majors have been hired at a faster rate than engineering majors, because employers have come to value communication skills.

You have a higher chance of getting promoted if you're male.

Cause we don't need no good English. We got muskels.

    I jest.

I don't think it is weird. My son in fact majored in English and Public Administration (two degrees) at U. of Pennsylvania. He graduated with over a 3.75 average and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.

That earned him quick admission into NYU where he earned the JD and MBA, again two degrees. He's now the managing lawyer for a law firm in San Francisco.

My point, it's not only not weird, it can be a good thing for a male to major in English. ANS.
