It's a rock solid one

I'm not even convinced it is quartz but it does look like it. It looks like it could be a piece of some igneous rock or metamorphosed igneous rock.

I need better glasses to say. There is apparently quartz in it, but what all is in it, in total? too blurry. Cannot even tell if it is a vein or metamorphic.

Looks like quartz, possible rose quartz (which can appear purplish as in the photo).
Quartz can make a large part of a rock, mixed in with mica or other soft minerals.

That's a piece of wood. Oh, wait, you mean the little thing in the middle there? Can't say--it looks like it could be glassy industrial slag to me, or otherwise some kind of conglomerate. Were there any kind of industrial activity in the area in the past?

Quartz is a mineral, not a rock, but there IS quartz in there.
