if you spray starting fluid into a car with fuel injection will it make a big pop?

I've had motors backfire out the intake and start a fire while trying to get them to start.
You don't need to spray more then a small quick blast of it into the throttle body when using starter fluid.Source(s): Mitsubishi Master Tech

Not usually unless there are valve timing issues.

It can if you spray for more than one second. Too much starting fluid is not a good thing.
