    On the earlier post all is correct but the math -- I get v = 480,000 m/s

      this is the correct answer!!

    Potential energy = q*V = 1200 eV = 1.92x10^-16 J

    Energy is conserved so 1/2 mv^2 = qV --> v = sqrt(2*q*V/m) = 8 x 10^5 m/s
