Is ireland the most catholic country?

    That would be Vatican City. And I think voting for Gay marriage and Abortion kind of puts us a fair bit down the list. The likes of Poland or any of the Latin American countries would be among the top of the list.

    In terms of highest population of catholics the top three countries are Mexico,Brazil and the Philippines.

    No. That would be Vatican City.

    Ireland has never been 100% catholic nor has it ever been the most catholic country in the world.

    Ireland is a mostly catholic country. In the latest survey, 78.3% of the Irish said they were Catholic. The highest it's been is 94.9% back in 1961 when it reached its peak, And the average percentage of Catholics in Ireland is 89.5%.

    If you click the box three times it will put it in order highest to lowest, highest is the vatican city, followed by east timor at 97%.

    Ireland is somewhere around 10th.
