Is it possible for intellectual disabilities to never be diagnosed before adulthood if the person went to public schools?

    No. Schools get extea money for every retarded student they have. Even kids who arent all the way retarded get labeled sometimes cause the school needs money.

    Yes, in rural parts of the country and some inner cities it is very easy for a child to be passed through from year to year without having their intellectual disabilities identifies. This happens more likely with girls than boys.

    No. Autism isn’t the same thing as intellectually disabled. Intellectual disabilities are the same thing as mental retardation it’s just a new label. I don’t see how someone would get through public schools with all the standardized tests and graduation tests with an iq below 70. Typically they get diagnosed pretty young. Other problems can show up later in life though.

    Yes it's very possible to have things like Autism and not be diagnosed
