It might be good for YOU, but bad for the environment, ESPECIALLY if you throw it in the trash, rather than the recycle bin. I usually just look at them online. The only things I regularly print out are things like boarding passes/e-tickets and instructions for some computer application (I lose my place if I try to toggle back and forth with the program open at the same time).

It's worth it to keep copies, until you get your W-2 form in January of next year. All the pay stub information should total to the numbers on the W-2.
You can shred the pay stubs after that.
