What are the requirements for getting a work visa in Canada?
Im interested in working and living in Ontario, Canada in the summer of 2020. I will be turning 19 in the summer of 2020. Im not interested in a career related job or anything just working at a restaurant or something. Anyways im just wondering how I would go about applying for a work visa and how hard it is. I would only be there for a few months and traveling back to the US by car multiply times throughout the summer. I live in Michigan.

Chiefly that you either qualify for a holiday/work visa, which isn't available to US citizens, or you hold mastery of a TN List occupation, which you apparently do not. So this doesn't seem like a viable option for you. Sorry.

You have clearly state you do not wish to move to Canada.
You just want a summer job and go home every weekend.
Currently a near zero chance. Maybe a small chance after the October elections in Canada and possible changes to the laws. Doubtful any changes would assist you and your situation.
Some suggest you work under the table for cash.
Every time you return to Canada you will be asked some questions as MOST teenagers cannot afford an endless summer vacation.
Border Agents will suspect you are working and just stop you and possibly ban you for a period of time.
There are very few places a US student can work in Canada for a summer job. Main reason U.S. does not allow Canadian students to have summer jobs in USA.
TRADE goes in two directions not just one like the current President wants.
Visitors are not expected to work and should be able to show they have the financial ability to cover their time in Canada.
The seasonal Agriculture workers program is not for US Citizens.
Your chance of a Visa is near zero.
You MIGHT qualify for an Internship type of position depending on your skills and education.in a few restricted fields.
Your major obstacle is finding an employer that cannot find Canadians to do the job.Very rare for a summer type of position.
About the only thing is children's summer camps. You would not have the time to make return trips to Michigan. in most cases.
You need to show what you offer that Canada NEEDS. Like most countries Canada has more than enough of its own teenagers for the entry level positions.
Willing to get a truck driving License?? There is a need for those willing to take trucks back and forth across the Border. Try your local trucking firms. They might help you get the license over the next year. There is an age restriction for this.

While Canada has working holiday visa agreements with all sorts of countries, the USA is not one of them. You would need a skill that is in demand in Canada, and you would need to work at the job for at least a year.
While many foreigner can get summer restaurant jobs, Americans cannot.

The US has no working holiday agreement with Canada. There are no visas that you are eligible for.

What's your citizenship? US? The ONLY visa which could allow you to work for up to one year would be the working holiday visa for young people - called in Canada "International Experience Canada" (IEC). However, there are specific limitations for this visa, starting with eligibility limited to citizens of certain specific countries. Age limitations. You must have sufficient funds for your year of travel in Canada, but are allowed to pick up occasional labor or seasonal jobs to supplement your travel funds, if you can find such jobs.
So, you need to do your homework. Study the regulations for IEC, make sure you meet all of them, save your money (you won't earn enough to pay all your expenses), etc. Application forms, fees, instructions are all online.
