What kind of rock is this?

I found this really weird looking rock in my back yard. It is very easy to break and full of pores. I feel like it could almost float. Any idea what kind of rock this is?

It's probably what most people say style of volcanic rock called pumice. Alternatively could it be weathered breeze block (at least that's what we call it over here) -a manufactured building block.

It's proably volcanic rock. Cinder rather than pumice. Is/was there a train track near you or any industry that used a blast furnace?

    Pumice (Volcanic).

A weed is animate and a rock is inanimate..

It looks Igneous to me but may be Metamorphic. It is not Sedimentary.

edit: Do you live in the northern US? If so it could be an Erratic.

It could be an Igneous rock, one formed from lava/magma.
