Arkansas is a beautiful state, which is rich in culture, history, and scenery. Since you are from NY, you would probably like the weather there as long as you wouldn't mind the heat and humidity. The climate of Arkansas is hot and humid in summer, mild to cool in winter, and temperate falls and springs. In winter you could occasionally experience cold weather and snow, but as you are from NY, the winters would register as mild to you as cold and snow is minimal with most days reaching the 50s in winter throughout Arkansas, and snow being very little in most of the state except the Northern mountains, which experience a significant snowfall almost every year, but even the North gets little snowfall compared to NY, while the South of Arkansas, has several years with very little to no snowfall. Also, you would probably enjoy the winters, as they are pretty mild compared to the Northeast and you won't have to worry about shoveling snow much anymore. The only part about the weather that would take getting used to is the heat and humidity, but NY is hot as well, but in Arkansas you could get days in the 100s with high humidity, but that's easy to get used to. In Arkansas, the climate is generally mild, and the only season that would probably take getting used to is summer, but you would probably get used to the summer within a year or two, or maybe not even that much. I haven't ever been to Arkansas, but I've heard it's nice, and I'm from Texas, so Arkansas has a similar climate and culture, and that's a place I've considered living as well, because it has a lot of things similar to Texas and a low cost of living, which the cost will be enjoyable to you as well, as it's a lot cheaper than NY.
