Loud subwoofer or loud exhaust?

My car is too quiet. It's an old hatchback vehicle.

Since it's a hatchback vehicle, get a single 12 inch sub around 600 watts RMS. It should be loud enough depending on what type of enclosure the sub is mounted on to.

I'm a bit older then you. No I will not tell you may age. No one wants to hear your loud speaker going down the street. The same for the loud exhaust...

Pipe the unmuffled exhaust directly into your ears.

No one else needs to hear it.

There is no such thing as a car that is too quiet. Only inconsiderate luddites and dumbasses drive loud cars

A Prius creeping through a parking lot can sneak up on a cat, it's that silent. You can't even hear the tires roll. I get what you're saying though.

Only for your own entertainment. Excess in either one can earn you a citation and fine. It's easier to turn down a stereo than a loud exhaust.
