Macau is next to Hong Kong. I think they've recently opened up a bridge between Hong Kong and Macau, but i might be mistaken. Anyhow, they are close to each other.

You’re not mistaken. That bridge was called the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Megabridge. There are shuttle buses that takes people thru the bridge between Hong Kong and Macau. The two cities were separated by the Pearl River.

The Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) is a part of China’s territory. It is located on the southeast coast of China, to the west of the Pearl River Delta. Bordering on Guangdong Province, Macau lies 65 kilometers – just an hour’s ferry ride southwest from Hong Kong and 145 kilometers from Guangzhou. Macau has a total area of approximately 30 square kilometers, consisting of a narrow peninsula called Macau and two islands (Taipa & Coloane).
