Shooting in HD on Canon XHA1 w/ Focus Firestore FS-100 Hard Drive?

I recently got a couple of hard drives to extend the life of my Canon XHA1. I just got a Focus Firestore FS-100 Hard Drive. Whenever I try to record in standard definition (DV) the hard drive records perfectly, however whenever I try to record in HDV mode I cannot get the hard drive to work.

How can I make this hard drive record in HD?

Thanks :)

if i remember right, the FS-100 is designed to record DV format video. HDV format has the same data rate, but uses MPeg2 compression. The FS-100 does not have a MPeg2 decoder, It also does not have a AVCHD decoder. Thus the only video it "understands" is DV. it would interpret anything else as garbage.

    not fast enough

The connection between the camera and drive is not fast enough. You have to record to internal memory then transfer it to the drive.
