It usually isn't the problem. Since most requests start with a DNS request, that is the error you see when you are offline.
DNS is a bad debug tool.
Just ping 8.8.8.8. If it works, you are online. If it doesn't you are offline.

How did you manage to log on to Yahoo to post your question if your DNS server is not responding?
What is the address of the DNS server you are trying to use that is not responding?
If you posted this question from a different device, which DNS server is this device using?

No, we can't. However, you can select a different set of DNS servers to use if you want.
Google's public DNS servers are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Kinda light on the details. How long is a piece of string? Yahoo Answers is just a forum where the general public can answer questions. It is NOT Yahoo's offices.
Even if it were Yahoo's offices, it is very unlikely that they would know anything about the DNS server you might be trying to use.
