If you are very, very lucky, the gas in the oil situation may be caused because the cooling system is not getting up to the proper temperature. Try changing the thermostat. I think that engine should be around 195 F but consult with a parts list at the auto store.
And if you are very, very, very lucky, the rings are just stuck and can be freed up by putting Marvel Mystery Oil in the oil AND gas. Restore brand engine restorer can also perform miracles on a worn engine. I have used both of these products in all different types of cars over the years. Also. You added that you "poured a lot of gad down the carb" after I answered. Don't do that anymore. Use starting fluid. Just a little spurt, don't hose it down. You seem like the heavy handed sort. Try not to be. And yes, for God's sake, change the oil, clean / change the plugs and make sure the wires are good too.
