If you were born in the United States and you decided to change your name at age 20, does that affect your citizenship status?

    So when women get married or divorced and change their last name they are no longer citizens then?

    No, a friend of mine who immigrated here from Belarus' changed his name when he turned 18 from the Belarusian spelling to the Russian Spelling, and yet he's still a citizen.
