If by "first perspective" you are indicating Image of God, then this: the "first perspective" is the infiring of the soul-field initiative with the Holy Ghost, in Bible-speak man "becoming a living soul."
At the post-passing, the accumulated energy patterns of that soul's embodiment are processed upward, much as occurs nightly in sleep when the soul is somewhat losed from the "surly bonds of earth."
In the major world religions, there is the notion of the "scales of Justice," so fine as to be moved by the weight of a "feather" or other similar metaphor.
Those energies that are consonant with--reflect, embody, demonstrate--the Justness of God as Energy as divine Love, Mercy, Life, Truth, and so on--are soul-field realizations that are permanently ensconced as patterns or treasures of Light in one's "starry body of First Cause attainment"--the soul as in God, able to Be in those treasures. Thus, at the very least, there is for the post-passing soul the initial immaculate concept given as "man becomes a living soul"--"I am that I am." Howbeit, if the soul-field has "buried its divine grace in the illusive patterns of relative good and evil," then there is little or no profit as Realization-gain.
Post-passing, then, the "rules of engagement" have moved past the physical platform that sustains most of mankind's daily linkage with the Energies of God given freely to all for that day. It is worth noting that the world's major religions, subsequently analogously corroborated by physics, describe various post-passing levels of Energy qualification/identification/demonstrati... These, much as quantum states of electrons, are again quite precise ("feather" metaphor). If Lazarus is in the love of Abraham, there is a great "gulf" betwixt that and a "dives" (generic term for phenomenally rich (man)). In one sense, the awareness of the dives is quite based on and conditioned by physis; a similar parable is that of a wealthy man who erects larger barns, yet whose soul-field is required of God--the notion of "you can't take it (physis) with you."
The "spirit of a man" is, in Job's example, what sustains him during a physis roller-coaster ride of horrific proportions--a kind of "one man's mini-holocaust."
So, in fine, some people in post-passing do, others don't, maintain the Image of God, which comes forth from the Father of Lights, and is the best divine plan for that particular lifestream. It is a great victory for the soul-initiative to be able to rise to the second heaven, whence the Image of God for that soul's embodiment is found in the Oneness of the Lord of Hosts; returning or ascending to that Energy level, nightly and post-passing, the soul is able to receive Truth as Light in Love, more fully commune with the Saints, and progress beyond the relative good and evil which Gautama Buddha denoted by "neti, neti," "not this materialism, not this mortal mindedness."
