A Vet? why not a Ferrari or a Lambo', why dream so small? But, yea,,,,why not? Seeing that you are still living at home, getting everything paid for, [ie: Room, Food, and maybe covered by your Parents insurance policy], go for it. will be a great 'chick magnate', and a lot of fun too drive, Then, when you graduate, HS, or College, you can sell it and get a more 'serious' car too drive.
When I turned 17 in 1965, I was able too take out my Dad's 62 Corvette and cruise the Boulevard for fun. My car was a 63 Falcon Sprint, with a Hurst 4 speed on a 260" cobra motor. It was fast and mean; However, I noticed a real big difference in 'how fast' you could meat girls between the 2 cars.
If I was in my Falcon, it would take hours too all night before anything came up; but, In the Corvette, once I hit the boulevard, I always met someone within the hour.
What I really see is, that a 17 yo in a Corvette, is a ticket waiting too happen.
