Humans have polluted this planet past the breaking point. If climate change makes you burst into tears and stomp your little tender feet, try pollution bad, need to clean up pollution. What we've dumped into the land, air and water does matter. You can actually see the effects, both long term and short-term. It affects weather patterns. It affects overall global temperatures. Humans have evolved to survive within a span of temperatures. Anything over that or under that is catastrophic. Animals, too, adapt to temperatures. Drops or rises that are too steep in either direction also effect animals. Plants, as well. Insects. Everything is effected. Get it now?
By trying to reverse the damages caused by insane amounts of pollution, we might actually leave a future for our children, as well as future generations beyond our immediate families. Not all of us can pack out bags and move to space like the super-wealthy can. Or afford to live in climate controlled housing where we never need go outside again because the pollution levels are lethal.
Climate change is happening too rapidly. It's not natural. Yes, there were natural cycles in the past but the one now is brought about by humans polluting away with no thought of clean up or control of that pollution because considering that we can actually trash an entire planet seems nuts to some of you. So all this doom and gloom talk you are dismissing as a hoax means you are not paying attention. 97% of the earth's scientists are saying yes, this is a major goddamn problem and we need to face it twenty years ago. Those other 3% tend to work for oil companies.
So actually go research this. If "climate change" makes you **** your pants or whatever's happening here, switch over to Pollution Is ******* Up Our World. Human-caused. The earth can't keep up with the human output of pollution. It can't repair itself fast enough. You know that I Love Lucy episode where she and Ethel worked at the candy factory? The belt started moving too fast for them to keep up. That's the earth right now. It can't keep up.
Young people, however, are taking this bull by the horns. They are mad as hell. And they should be. Hats off to them for actually wanting a habitable place to live. **** you climate change deniers for making sure those young people will probably fail at this. But maybe not.
