With the loss of all major industries (textiles, mining, steel, ceramics, fishing, agriculture, vehicles, white goods) and the increase in cheap labour that comes with immigration, there are now more workers to do a lot less jobs. What is left is the service industries - coffee shops, retail, insurance - and it shows that there is less and less money circulating because it is not being created here.
Very soon the major towns will die, and people will move out. It has started already. Even the pound shops are closing and Jamie- Oliver's restaurants are too expensive to survive in the high street. Even Burger king is struggling.
Combine this with a roll out of Low Emission Zones in major cities...... I won't be going in there for anything if I can possibly avoid it. Multiply that by Millions of people doing the same and you have empty city centres all over the country.
