Can our landlord destroy the storage shed we had & not replace it?

The house is a two bedroom so we now have had to use the 2nd bedroom to store our things. We asked when she would be getting us a new storage shed. She said it was not a storage shed but a moving crate another tenant had given her for free. She told us we are welcome to find another one, or to get our own storage shed. We rent month to month & have always paid our rent on time. We've lived here now 15 years, and feel we are being mistreated.

She used to be so nice, but she told me she is not running a charity, and then asked us if we realized how low our rent is. Well, it really should be lower since we've lived here this long. The place needs to be updated with new carpeting & new linoleum in the kitchen. It needs a new kitchen sink & a new vanity in the bathroom. We've put up with this for years, and feel we aren't asking much to have a storage shed returned to the back yard like how it was when we first rented. The landlord told us with a 30 day notice as she gave us she is doing nothing wrong. She then said she would get a storage shed for us if we were willing to actually pay $100.00 rent for her doing it. We don't think that's fair & don't want to do it.
Update: The storage area was mentioned in the ad we saw when we went out to view the rental. She didn't write it up in the lease, but it's implied to have been part of the rental since it was in the ad.
