I have been there multiple times. Turks are good people. Americans are good people. Russians are good people. You find trash in every society. More here, less there, depending on where here and there is. I would feel safer a stranger in Turkey than in many places in USA. USA has many opportunists. (con-men). I have read about Turks inviting foreigners to tea to be poisoned and robbed. That never happened. Most Turks want to sell their wares, be it an ANTIQUE (looking) Aladdin's lamp (which his brother makes) or a shiny glass water hookah which looks Chinese. If Mohammed does not have it, Hesham will, and one will go to the other to get the article. In America, Bubba will tell you 42 steps to make homemade wine where 3 will do and Lester will ask $5 for HIS information. So I pick Turks over Americans in this sense.
