Which has a higher density, 5g of water or 5000 g of water?

Is the water horizontal or in a vertical column and getting compressed?
Are they the same temperature? Temp really affects density.

Their density would be the same if their depth were the same. If the 5000g is stored in a tall column, the water at the bottom will be slightly compressed, so the 5000g would have an average density a tiny bit greater than that of the 5g. As an example, the density of water in the Marianas Trench is about 5% greater than it would be at the surface, so you can see that the compression brought about by a foot or two of overlying water will be very, very tiny (but not zero).

Density has nothing to do with the amount of the material.
5 g or 5,000 g or 5,000,000 g has the same density - 997 kg/m^3

If they have the same temperature they have exactly the same density. Density is an intensive property.

If it's the same water, then the density is the same, no matter the weight.
