Yes you can eat brains as long as they are well cooked. Some viruses, including the rabies virus and ones that cause mad cow disease, can be found inside brains. Cooking kills the viruses and any bacteria. Brains are just cells and they contain the usual nutrients found in other cells, such as proteins, carbohydrates, fat and nucleic acids. Nothing extra can be gained by eating brains instead of, say, a pork chop, chicken wing, or a hamburger. THere is also the yuck factor. Many people simply will not eat internal organs such as hearts, livers, stomachs, intestines and brains. Other people mistakenly think that eating brains will make them smarter. It won't.
