Yes, your income does not go on your parents' return.

    Yes.

Which form are you talking about?

You MUST file a tax return (form 1040) if you had enough income.

You MUST submit form W-4 to your employer when starting a new job.

The only tax form I can think of that would go to your parents, is the education credit. Regardless of whether you paid your own tuition or your parents did, as long as they are paying most of your expenses, they get to claim the tax credit for it.

Yes. A dependent CAN and sometimes even SHOULD file a tax return.

On the tax return forms, there is a place that you mark to indicate that you are someone's dependent.

If you use a tax website, like Turbo Tax, to file your tax return, there will be a question that asks if someone else can claim you as a dependent - you simply answer the question.

Yes, and when you do, under dependents, you put 0.

Why? It's a pretty basic question that two people have already answered correctly. Best rule of thumb is if you have an income, you file an income tax return. Period. Follow this and you'll never go wrong.
