No, they're monkeys. Monkey is a family, not a species. There are hundreds of species of monkeys.
Ape is a family, not a species. There are about 27 species of apes (humans, chimps, bonobos, 3 gorillas, 18 gibbons, 3 orangutans).

No, monkeys are not apes. They, as well as humans, are all primates. Primates have three different orders: Monkeys, Apes, and Hominids.

No, monkeys are monkeys not apes. There are two major groups (parvorders) of monkeys with one (the Old World monkeys (Cercopithecoidea)) more closely related to apes (Hominoidea) than the New World monkeys (Platyrrhini). The commonest difference between them is that apes do not have tails but most species of monkey do. There are other differences. There is no simple answer. Both terms apply to a number of species. Some are closely related, some not. They all belong to the order Simiiformes.
Apes (Hominoidea) are a branch of Old World tailless simians native to Africa and Southeast Asia. They are the sister group of the Old World monkeys, together forming the catarrhine clade.
Monkey is a common name that may refer to groups or species of mammals, in part, the simians of infraorder Simiiformes. The term is applied descriptively to groups of primates, such as families of new world monkeys and old world monkeys. Simians and tarsiers emerged within haplorrhines some 60 million years ago. New World monkeys and catarrhine monkeys emerged within the simians some 35 million years ago. Old World monkeys and Hominoidea emerged within the catarrhine monkeys some 25 million years ago.
