At least R. L. Stine has not fallen into the trap of using his stories as a platform for his political views.

They are both good but R.L. Stine is more for Children and young adults. Did u read goosebumps :) I still have a lot of books from R. L. Stine also just checked as remembered a book but was not sure if it was his but turns out it is :) I like this book aswell The Hitchhiker. I have a book somewhere..gotta find it that has a light in it which is handy when reading in bed at night ;)
Got one Stephen King book for my birthday one year.

Stephen King deals with death and horror in a way that scares children, but
Stine lets kids know evil is fun
