Are glass water bottles suitable for school?

I don’t drop my bottle anyway but I bought a new one and realised it’s glass not plastic. Is it strong glass or does it shatter fairly easily? Scared one of my friends is gonna break it 😂

All materials have their ups and downs - the downside of glas is that it can easily break, the upside is that it's the most neutral, i.e. will not catch or release chemicals or tastes.

If you're afraid of breaking it (or having it broken by a "friend"), better get a different bottle. Besides plastic (Nalgene), coated aluminium or stainless steel are also commonly used.

It's likely to be tempered glass.

It can shatter but it's harder to make shatter. If it if shatters it doesn't create big chucks of glass. It becomes more pebblely and less likely to cute yourself on.
