Ever hear of insurance fraud, people go to jail for submitting false insurance claims.
You want the insurance company to believe that you had $240,000 worth of items damaged? And yet you have no receipts, no photos, and you only had insurance for only half of the damaged items. Then you say some of it belonged to family members that you were keeping for them? No credit card receipts, just debit card purchases?
And you wonder why the insurance company does not believe you. And people do keep receipts for major purchases, they put them in a bank safety deposit box, small waterproof safe, even just a metal lock box. You will not collect a dime on anything.
If you think the insurance company is going to just cut you a check on your say so, badly mistaken, they are not going to pay you anything, but they may do their own investigation and see if you filled out a fraudulent claim form and if you did, you are going to prison.
