I still have my DPS authorized CCW permit and I continue to renew it every 5 years for multiple states reciprocity. DPS always sends a mailer to remind you, about 60-90 days from your expiration date.

How to renew an Arizona CCW permit
You may apply to renew a CCW permit up to 90 days prior to the expiration date on your permit. You also have up to 60 days after your CCW permit expires with which you can renew your permit without penalty, but you cannot exercise the benefits of the CCW permit until the new one arrives. If you wait beyond the 60 day grace period allowed by law you will be required to submit a new application. Be advised that it could take several days or even a week before renewal applications are processed once they are received by DPS. So if you wait until day 50 to mail off your renewal, it may be too late.
If the Arizona Department of Public Safety has your correct mailing address, you should receive a renewal packet in the mail approximately 60 days prior to the expiration date on your permit. Arizona CCW permit holders are required by law to notify DPS in writing within ten days after they move or change their address. If you did not receive a renewal packet from the Arizona Department of Public Safety about 60 days prior to the expiration on your permit, call the DPS Handgun Clearance Center at (800) 256-6280 and ask them to send you a renewal packet. You can also download or print the renewal application directly from their web site by clicking here.
Arizona CCW permits are now valid for five years. To renew your permit simply send in a completed renewal application and a $43.00 cashiers check or money order before the 60 day grace period has expired. Ideally you should send in your renewal packet before your permit expires. There is NO CLASSROOM OR FINGERPRINTING requirement to renew an Arizona CCW permit before your current permit expires.

Just show you are a legal resident of Arizona and no permit needed.
To carry open you must be 18 or older, concealed, 21 or older.
If you can legally own a gun, you can carry it.
If you want a permit, they are issued at any sheriff office.
Don't mistake permits, many other states will not honor them IE: California.

You're confused. Arizona does not issue conceal permits. Arizona is "Constitutional Carry" state.
