Is it fair to make a student stand at the wall the whole period for not studying and not being able to memorize?

Yes. That will teach the lazy devil to do his homework.

Where are you? That kind of punishment is not usually permitted in US public schools. If you're in a private school, they can pretty much do whatever they want.

Yes, everyone can learn if they out the effort in. If the teacher told you to learn it I think it is fair to have punishment

There is a difference between having a learning disability and simply being lazy, not doing your work and actually learning. If you indeed have a learning disability then you need help, a medical exam, and possibly special classes. If you are simply being lazy, unwilling to do the work, then you should stand. Be thankful you don’t have to stand on one foot, or put your nose in a circle on the blackboard, as they did years ago.

if it motivates you to do better next time it doesn't need to be fair. its an expression of concern for your future.
