What I would do is not necessarily what every parent would do when it comes to disciplining children. The dynamics of my household can be totally different than the dynamics of other people's.
Heck, I even had to treat my own children differently because they had different needs. To give you an example of the different personalities of my children: after a heavy rain fall, we were in a parking lot where there were some big puddles of water. My one son walked up to the puddle and saw his reflection and waved at himself. My other son ran into the puddle and jumped up and down until he was soaking wet. LOL. So, even kids in the same household are totally different.
I would never allow any destruction of my property to be tolerated. NO WAY. Punishment would follow, no doubt about it. I would most certainly punish my child if he put a hole in the wall. Heck, the time he slammed his door, I took it off the hinges for a week. Zero tolerance for destructive and anti social behavior.
