Read it cover to cover while paying attention to everything it says (how to buy and own slaves, what to do with rape victims, etc.), as well as what it never says (ie. "thou shalt not impale the altar boys' young virgin fart lockers"), and you will see just how atrocious of a book it is and how awful a religion it is to hold that book at the core of its beliefs. You'll also see how theists and religious leaders cherry-pick what parts to live by or preach from the pulpit to spin the narrative they want. It is true that the bible condemns homosexuality (specifically, a many lying with another man as he would with a woman) as an abomination worthy of death. It also condemns farmers plowing the corners of their fields, or the wearing of mixed fabrics. It's like it was written by some geezer with dementia who couldn't quite keep his thoughts straight. Oh, and regarding abortion, read Numbers chapter 5; it details exactly how a woman should be forced to drink a cursed potion to induce abortion that leaves her barren if she is suspected of cheating.
Yes, read it and see how many cases of incest, murders, genocides, infanticides, slaughters of children, taking of children for sex slaves, and stoning of people for the most mundane crap its god commits, commands, or sanctions. Then ask yourself this: why the fück should I believe this horseshit, let alone live my life by it?
