Why is it that liberals are against Trump wanting good relations with Russia, but are against Trump having a very tough stance on Iran?
Liberals are more outraged over Trump meeting Putin at the Helenski summit and wanting good relations with Russia to avoid a nuclear war. But these same liberals are siding with Iran and are against Trump being tough on Iran, the same Iran that supports terrorists worldwide, that threatens the destruction of U.S. and Israel, and threatens to close the Strait of Hormuz and wants to get nuclear weapons. And the same Iran that kills gay people and oppresses women. So why the change of tone?.

Because he's screwing up both those things.
Liberals would love to have good relations with Russia. But that's a two way street. Russia can't attack us and expect to have good relations. They can't attack their neighbors and expect to have good relations. They can't back mass murderers like Assad and expect to have good relations. Trump thinks, for some bizarre reason, perhaps bribery, that good relations with Putin are the most important thing in the universe and that the US should sacrifice any strategic interests or any self respect in order to stay on the Russian dictators good side. Liberals disagree and think that Russia is an enemy state which needs to earn our good relations.
Liberals also believe that Iran is an enemy state whose rogue actions in the region, and assaults on American allies, need to be confronted. But we need to do that intelligently. We don't want a war with Iran and there's no reason to start one now. We also don't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon, because they're an enemy state. That's why liberals supported Obama's nuclear deal with Iran, which kept them from getting a bomb. Conservatives disagreed and argued that allowing Iran to have a bomb was a good thing. So they rejected the deal. Now they want to start a war with Iran for no reason other than offense at the country's very existence.

Putin is not a friend to the U.S. Trump's had long running lucrative business dealings with Putin's Russian oligarchs (i.e. the Russian mob). Trump's surrounded himself with people who have Russian connections and he's made a concerted effort to hide those connections and all information about their and his meetings with Russian officials. And, Putin interfered with our 2016 election in support of Trump's campaign. Liberals have good reason to distrust Trump's relationship with Putin. Conservatives should as well, but, they've turned a blind eye to it.
It was estimated that Iran was only a year or two away from making a nuclear bomb when it signed onto the agreement that Trump tore up. Yes, Iran sponsors terrorism. But, it's aimed at Israel, not at us. Iran has not been a direct threat to the United States. And, instead of poking at Iran like it was the enemy, we should be trying to negotiate a deal with them that would protect Israel and decrease tensions in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia, however, is the home of Wahhabism, the faction of Islam practiced by both al-Qaeda and ISIS. If a tough stance is to be made by us in the Middle East, it should be against Saudi Arabia, not Iran.

Democrats are anti-semites. They won't even hold Ilhan Omar accountable for her hate speech. They feel a kinship with Iran.

Iran didn’t meddle in our elections. They haven’t done anything to the US since the 1970s, and even that was something minor. Russia is hacking into our power grids to learn how to cut the nation’s electricity off. That doesn’t bother you?

Because Putin invaded Crimea and attacked our elections, meanwhile Iran has not escalated anything, he is cozying up to someone we should be sanctioning back to the stone age and ramping up military actions for no apparent reason other than he doesn't like them

Russia interfered with election. It is fine. Iran builds nuclear plants with Russia , fine as well. China trades with Russia, fine as well.

The Left will oppose this president no matter what he does. They have no core beliefs, no morals, no ethics all they have is an all-consuming desire for total power and control. They will go to any lengths to get it and not care one bit for the death, destruction and misery they cause in their pursuit of it.

Why do you care what liberals think? Why the obsession?
