How do we fix trade inequities that cost Americans billions due to law differences?

China doesn’t observe international copyright laws, so they are free to copy and profit from other people’s work with no royalty paid, thus underselling and profiting from other’s work.

Similarly other countries are not bound by U.S. patent law so they are free to replicate drugs developed by U.S. pharmaceuticals, at a fraction of the price.

Essentially the U.S. is paying for the work other countries copy for free. How can this be made more fair?
