Jesus' death did not make us incapable of sinning. It opened the way for us to confess our sins and to then, in faith, believe that Jesus died to take OUR punishment for OUR sins. He did not make us incapable of sinning. We are weak beings and we sin most of the time in thought, word and deed. That being the case we need to confess on a regular basis, stating what sins we actually committed. Give them names like theft, hatred, lust, jealousy etc. and ask for forgiveness one by one. If you are sincere and believe His promise you will then be forgiven but, because human beings are frail, weak creatures who are easily tempted, we will continue to sin. This means we must continually ask for forgiveness. Don' wait until the list is long to confess them. There was never a promise that you would be sin-free for life. The promise was that every sin you seriously confess will be wiped off the slate. You WILL sin again and that is why confession must be a regular thing we do. Accept that He has forgiven you each time but also accept that Satan roams the earth seeking whom he may devour. He will never stop tempting you until this life is over and he has been banned to outer darkness.- along with his followers.
