If the world had been the same size without the Americas in the way he never would have made it as his ships did not have enough food or water for a trip of that distance. If his calculations had been right, with the world much smaller and no Americas in the way, he would have made it in six weeks.

More than twice as long as it took him to cross the Atlantic. he thought the Earth was one third smaller than it really is. Surprising because its size had been calculated within 4% in 240 BC by a Greek man, and in the 700s AD to within 1% by an Arab scholar.
Thus Columbus (note capital) and all his crew would have starved to death on that extended voyage.

Little is known of his early life, but he worked as a seaman and then a maritime entrepreneur. ... route to Cathay (China), India, and the gold and spice islands of Asia.

AS already said- he wouldnt
just think about - Europe -> americas - say 3000 miles
across americas - say 1500 miles ( from where he landed)
across pacified -? - say 8000 miles (till he hits land
total - 12500 miles
It took him 5 weeks to cross to the emericas (3000 miles) = 3.6 mph
so lets assume he continued the remaining 9500miles at 5mph
that would have taken 79 days
sailing the total distance = 35+79 = 114 days = 15 weeks with no fresh water or food
(and hes STILL got say 1500 miles sailing to get to India (even if he knew the route)
that would probably have taken a lot longer- cos he dont know which direction to go
Remember - it was easy to get from europe to the americas cos you just sail west and you got to hit it someplace-
but landing on that big lump of asia which direction do you go to get around it to get to india?)

He wouldn't have.
A sailing ship isn't just a magic boat with endless supplies.

If Columbus didn't exist there would be less pollution and 100 million Native Americans would not have been raped and murdered.

Colombus sailed on the Samta Maria, which was a "Carrack" style ship.
The average speed of a Carrack was about 130km per day.
The distance between Spain and India then, going over the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, would be 32,075km.
Meaning a 247 day journey.
hahah, if it wasn't columbus it would of been someone else eventually. Don't forget. Vikings had discovered and set up a settlement in now parts of canada 500 years befor columbus.
