It’s for their benefit not yours. They don’t want the legal exposure

    so you dont fall off

    • So you fall even when you're full alert? Well you shouldn't. I've never fall off a bed in my life.

Yes. You fall asleep and roll onto the floor, they have a lawsuit on their hands.

    • I don't roll around in my sleep. But it's weird when they put them up even when you're full alert. It's in your way when you are trying to do something. Most of the time I bang my head on the stupid bed railing. When I'm changing position.
The main reason I hate it is that I bang my head on it.

CYA. Cover YourAss. You got a $50K bill coming. What better way to settle it than falling out of the bed.
