Sleeping in my car to save up $6000?
Does this sound doable?
Well, this small town in northern michigan that I live in, has nothing going for it. The jobs are low paying, dead ends and etc.
The job that I work for now is offering a job in Chicago that pays $650 per week delivering car parts from a warehouse to different auto shops. I'm doing the same thing here except the warehouse that we are working for is going out of business and shutting down in a week.
I will also pick up a night job and save as much as I possible can from that.
However, I'll be finishing school in August (online), and already have a Job offer in Georgia and that's where I'll be headed once I graduate. In the meantime, my bank account is in the negative, and I have about $1000 on my credit card but I worked to hard to pay them down. Not really trying to use them.
And I have about $500.00. I was thinking of taking the job offer, and sleeping in my car in a 24 hour walmart parking lot in a suburbs.

I think your best plan is get a very cheap shared room somewhere.
Maybe explain your problem to a church and and ask if they know if anyone has a cheap spare room for a while

I think you should look for an Air BNB where you'd just have one bedroom somewhere. I understand saving money, but if you get messed with or robbed it'll be bad and you're gonna need to shower sometimes.

Its awful hot in Georgia so I would either get a small RV or get an apartment. I have slept in my car in a Walmart lot and its not a very goid place to sleep. Lots of lights, noises, cleaning the parking lot its not worth it for longterm housing.

The police will kick you out of a walmart parking lot, even in the back. They make the rounds. It's private property. Look for a "legal" place to park your car. In a friend's driveway, an RV park, a Flying J. A casino will even kick you out. You may have to do a lot of looking around before you find a place where you can park overnight.Source(s): Certified Paralegal, with 25+ years' experience.

No, it does not sound doable. You would have to have an address for the application and for background check.

And no cooking, bathroom or shower facilities?

You would be better off renting a room off craigslist or somewhere. Staying in someone's basement or a room even with sharing a bathroom is better than the dangerous plan you have.

Walmart has security and they would run you off or tell the cops to do. You might get away with a night here or there but not permanently.

And Walmart is going to let you do this?? Me think they might just go ahead & call the cops on you.
