The ignorant media and unknowing people who all had no idea about how titles work are the ones who called The Princess of Wales, "Princess Diana."
People who know how titles work know that:
1. Diana was properly "The Princess of Wales," "Diana, Princess of Wales," or "Princess Charles." She used the highest ranking title, Princess of Wales, the most.
2. Diana was "Princess Charles" because she assumed her status through marriage. It is only a female born or bestowed a princess in her own right who uses the title with her own given name. Diana assumed her status through marriage so proper titling means that she would be identified by her husband's given name whenever the title "Princess" was used with a first, or given name.
Examples are :
Anne, the Princess Royal is properly titled Princess Anne since she was born a princess in her own right. Catherine, who assumes her status through marriage would be called "Princess William" if the title of princess was used with a given name.
3. Intelligent people who are able to follow rules of protocol then apply them to Meghan who is Duchess of Sussex, Countess of Dumbarton, Baroness Kilkeel, the Princess Henry since her status is through marriage. Race has nothing to do with title protocols.
4. Intentional misspellings, ("troyalists), and poor capitalization of words points to the true intent of the posting since the asker was already aware of the title protocol, being a longtime poster in these threads.
