If you walk through a mirror would you be in a parallel universe? What are movies with parallel universes?
Movies like Parallels (2015).

The physics doesn't support that what you see in a mirror as a parallel universe.
But even if we assume that it is, you would never be able to get through it because you'd be walking right into your other self in the otherside of the mirror every time.
And movies with parallel universes: Coherence (awesome flick!), Another Earth (a physical copy of the Earth appears in the skies one day!), The One (martial arts movie), Star Trek (the 2009 reboot), Parallels (a building is a portal between different Earths).
For TV shows, Fringe or Sliders are the two best ones.

If you walk thru a mirror, you would be cut by the glass. There are no parallel universes.
Don't believe Alice. She was never in Wonderland.

There is an idea that time has many directions and just as we move forward other universes move backwards but from their perspective they are moving forward and we backwards.
That when the universe began, it was in a place where the universes were one. The time before the bang was the beginning of another universe but time moved in reverse from our perspective.
Perhaps too tiny universes exist inside event horizons that move in reverse from our perspective. There are many black holes.
Maybe the everyverse is a tangle of time directions. And our future is in the past and in many places. And two places in our time can coexist and be part of the same line.

You'd be covered in broken glass. Lewis Carroll had his own ideas about it though.

Your metaphor was used in Jean Cocteau's Orphee trilogy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orpheus_(film) which has some classic images.
The similar parallel universe metaphor was used to good effect in Marcel Camus' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Orpheus
Other: "The 10th Kingdom;"
"Gnomeo and Juliet;"
"Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Family" (seems like a || universe to me :-)
"Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb;"
"Prisoners of the Lost Universe;"
"Lord of the Ring;"
"Harry Potter" series.
