I do not think you can possibly spoil an infant or a young child who needs to be held.
Everyone has an opinion, but in reality, your opinion is the only one that really matters. It is so easy for people to say, let the child cry it out. But, YOU are the one who has to listen tot he screaming all the time. Children the age of your child are not wise enough to manipulate you. Their world is so small and you are their world. You are.
Sure, you may need to tend to yourself or some household obligations, so some crying should be tolerated. But, I always held my children when they needed comfort. Now that my "children" are 30 and 32 years old, I can look back and never regret that I did not get to hold them enough. And, that be whether they were crying or laughing. Three decades seems like, and it actually is, a long time, but it goes by so quickly. Hold your child and hold on tightly while you still can.
