Maybe it's just my faulty memory, but pizza used to be SOOO GOOD! No matter where you went, the crust was hand-thrown, the cheese was real, and stringy, the sauce was good, the toppings were genuine.
But over the years 'neighborhood' chain pizza parlors have competed heavily on price. Instead of a wonderful dinner choice, pizza is what people order for their kids when they tell the kid 'We're having meatloaf tonight' and the kid moans 'I HATE meatloaf!' Kids don't know the difference between good pizza and bad pizza, so this kind of pizza competes on price only.
Pizza Hut is the king in this particular subgenre of pizza, because they're the biggest and oldest chain pizza parlor for cheap takeout or delivery. Is it better than, say Dominos or Little Caesar or Godfather? I couldn't say. I hate 'em all.
The problem is, REAL pizza is getting harder to find.
