Need help naming a character in my book.?
I’m trying to think of a good name for the family in my story. I have the parents already (Erica and Carson) But need names for the kids. There’s some restrictions on the names I can chose though:
Can’t be unisex
Not a popular name but still used.
No unique spellings
The last name is Riley so it can’t start with R or end with the long e sound.
The initials can’t spell anything
Both boy and girl names would be great!

How about considering what Erica and Carson would have named the kids. Is there some family naming traditions (like one of the kids has the mother’s maiden name or father’s middle name)? Would they have been named after a relative? Would they have chosen religious names (like after saints or something from the Bible)? Would the name have some ethnic or regional flavor (like Irish or Southern US)? The popularity of names change with time, so when we’re the kids born? What is considered “unisex” also changes over time.
Considering those types of things help you create more well-rounded and realistic characters.

Kennedy which is unisex but is now used for girls a lot more.
Lyle (pronounced Lye all)

Taylor, Annalesse, Marlina, Joyclyne, Zackerey, ( sorry if I broke any rules, its hard to think of a boy name that isn't popular)
