Even before the State of Israel was formed Zionist militia, including Irgun terrorists, were expelling Arabs from their lands. The illegal settlements are a continuation of the stealthy expansion of Israel.

    Hello John,

The whole rationale of alleged “illegality” in relation to Israeli home-building / “settlements” is illogical and should not be accepted on its face value. Since the "Palestinian" Arabs arrived after the Jews, this makes the Arabs the settler-colonists.

Only in regard to Israel, would people use the term illegal “settlements” to describe a sovereign nation building homes on its own land, within Area C of the West Bank, as permitted under the Oslo Accords (see further below), to which the Palestinians agreed.

Usage by Israeli sources of the terms “settlements” / “settlers” is inaccurate and should cease, because: Those terms do not reflect Jewish roots in their ancestral homeland, and because to uninformed non-Israelis those terms tend to falsely-imply “Israeli land-theft”.

    Thus:

    > “Israelis” (Jewish returnee-exiles) (NOT Israeli “settlers”).

    > “Israeli-homes” (NOT Israeli “settlements”).

    Israeli “settlers” are either:

    > Jews whose ancestors have unbroken-presence in their ancestral-homeland of Israel.

    > Jewish-exiles returned to their ancestral-homeland of Israel, who have Judean heritage.

(The clue is in the name: “Jew” refers to the citizens of “Judah” (aka “Judea”) / Israel.)

The West Bank is land of previous Jewish kingdoms (see further below)!

Jews “Re-settling” their ancestral homeland are therefore “Returnees”.

There has never been a sovereign state of “Palestine” upon which the “Palestinian” Arabs could base any claim to any part of the land of Israel.

Following the Ottoman Turkish defeat in the First World War, the League of Nations in 1921 resurrecting the name “Palestine” from Roman occupation, authorized a British Mandate, whose inhabitants were known as:

“Palestinian Jews” / “Palestinian Arabs”. An administrative region, NOT a sovereign state, it was an area that later would be today’s:

Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Territories - Please compare the second and third maps down, at:

    http://www.shamrak.com/Masada2000-HistoryofPalesti...

The prior Ottoman Turkish empire did not use any such political term as “Palestine”, but rather Ottoman-occupied Judea / Israel was within the Ottoman province of “Syria”:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoman_Syria

The “Palestinian” Arabs falsely-allege Israeli Jews all came from Europe. Some Jews are returnee-exiles, since the Jewish People have Judean heritage. Yet the Jewish People are indigenous to their ancestral homeland of Israel, with unbroken presence there from Biblical times:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic_history_...

All the Israeli home-building / “settlements” are on land of the former Jewish Kingdoms of Israel / Judea.

The Jewish People have had an unbroken presence in their ancestral homeland of Israel since Biblical times, and also previous sovereign states in the land for example the Jewish Hasmonean Kingdom of Judea (including the WEST BANK, Gaza, and Golan Heights), with its capital of (what is now East) Jerusalem, and independent as at 110 BCE / 753 BH–752 BH:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasmonean_dynasty

Therefore just as Israel / the Jewish People logically cannot:

    “Invade”,

    or “steal”,

    or “illegally-occupy”,

    or “colonize”,

    its OWN ancestral homeland,

it also cannot logically “illegally-settle” its OWN ancestral homeland:

From where did “Palestine” as a name imposed on the land of Israel, come?

The Romans imposed the term “Palæstina” (“Palestine”) on Roman-occupied Judea / Israel, resurrecting the term from the then defunct much smaller region of “Philistia” (approx. today’s Gaza, till Jaffa), within which the Philistines had their five city kingdoms.

The “Palestinian” Arabs have no connection with the ancient Philistines.

The “Palestinian” Arabs may come from those who invaded and occupied the Jewish land of Judea / Israel. However, it is also unclear at what point they arrived there, since they were opposed to being called a “People” until the 1960’s, when they decided it fitted with their intention to steal the land from its indigenous Jews:

    http://www.targetofopportunity.com/palestinian_tru...

Israel was Re-established in 1948 following a United Nations Partition Plan (two-state solution), accepted by the then Palestinian Jewish Community. The “Palestinian” Arab response was in 1947 to start a civil war to oppose the U.N. Partition Plan, instead take ALL the land of Israel, and expel or murder the Jews.

In 1948 the Arab countries attacked the newly Re-established State of Israel, but the Arabs lost the war. Jordan then illegally-occupied the West Bank, and also illegally-occupied East Jerusalem from which the Jordanians expelled the Jews. Egypt illegally-occupied the Gaza strip. Neither country offered these areas to the Palestinians.

(Please see the sources which I have put into the “Sources” area of this answer.)

The Palestinians have two territories (part of the West Bank and the whole of Gaza) (or Palestinian colonies on land of the former Jewish kingdoms of Judea / Israel).

Being a grant of autonomy (and not sovereignty), until any peace treaty that may say otherwise, the land remains Israel’s, which has full right both moral and legal, to build on the Jewish ancestral homeland.

The United Nations and its structures have for many years been dominated by a block-vote of up to 56 Arab and additional Islamic-aligned countries (e.g. U.N. member states that are also members of the “Organization of Islamic Cooperation”), plus the influence of Arab oil money; compared to Israel being just one country.

Thus, fully-complicit with Palestinian propaganda denying Jewish roots in the Jews ancestral homeland of Israel, both the U.N and European Union treat the Jewish People as “invaders”, and so also as “thieves” and “illegal-occupiers” of the Jews OWN land (all the areas of land being of the prior Jewish kingdoms of Judea / Israel), likewise illogically of building “illegal-settlements” there, and with Palestinian terrorism regarded as “resistance to occupation”.

The following is how the Palestinians obtained part of the West Bank and the whole of Gaza:

In 1967 Israel gained control of the West Bank and Gaza Strip (from the previous Jordanian and Egyptian illegal-occupation respectively) and as an attempt by Israel at “land for peace” under the Oslo Accords, Israel later granted the Palestinians autonomy for part of the West Bank (40%) and the whole of the Gaza Strip, (anticipating a peace treaty until when the land remains Israel’s).

The Oslo II Accord covers both Gaza and the West Bank.

The Oslo Accords divided the West Bank into three administrative divisions:

    Areas A, B and C:

Area A is exclusively administered by the Palestinian Authority, and is approximately 18% of the West Bank.

Area B (Palestinian civil control and joint Israeli-Palestinian security control), is administered by both the Palestinian Authority and Israel, and is approximately 22% of the West Bank.

Area C (full Israeli civil and security control), which contains the Israeli settlements, is administered by Israel:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Bank_Areas_in_t...

Area C was intended to be: Quote: “... gradually transferred to Palestinian jurisdiction ...” (that is autonomy, not sovereignty) (Article XI). Under the Oslo Accords Area C remains under Israeli control because the Palestinians breached the terms of the Accords.

How did the Palestinians breach the terms of the Accords?

By failing to: Quote: “... prevent acts of terrorism crime and hostilities ...” (Article XV).

    This is quite clear because:

    1) The Palestinian Authority lost control of Gaza to Hamas, which fires numerous barrages of rockets at Israeli cities:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_rocket_a...

    2) The “Palestinian Authority” (funded by the “European Union”) and the “Palestinian Liberation Organization” by Palestinian Law, pay a reward-“pension” for the murder of Israeli Jewish civilians including children (see further below).

Political description of Israeli “settlements” (Israeli home-building) on the West Bank, as an “obstacle to peace”, is support for both the Palestinian false-claim to Israeli Area C of the West Bank, and is a propaganda-phrase that in reality means - obstruction to the Palestinian intention to take (steal) ALL the land of Israel and expel or murder the Jews.

When the Palestinians claim that Israel is:

    > “expanding its borders by building ‘illegal-settlements’ ”,

this is the Palestinian false-claim to Israeli Area C of the West Bank, to which the Palestinians are not entitled under the Oslo Accords due to their breach of the Accords.

Once the Palestinians had tricked Israel into giving them autonomy of part of the West Bank and the whole of Gaza under the Oslo Accords, the Palestinians since:

    > Do not sincerely negotiate a peace treaty,

    > falsely-claim ALL of Israel,

    > attack Israeli Jewish civilians as policy including children (see below).

No wonder anti-Semites display such emotional-support for the Palestinians!

Here is an example result from the Palestinian on-going anti-Jewish hate-war:

Israeli girl, Hallel Yaffa Ariel, aged 13, fatally stabbed in her bedroom in West Bank by a Palestinian terrorist, June 30, 2016, The Guardian:

    I hope this helps.

Why not? Palestine isn’t a country. Israel is building on their own land.

Because they have the backing of the US, so there is no country that can stop them. The UN has countless resolutions against the illegal acts of Israel, but because the US is a security council member, nothing can be done.

The Israeli propagand machine keeps dissent in western countries to a minimum by labelling any criticism of Israel as 'antisemitism' and therefore not permitted. News about Palestine is censored by the interests of the news organisations, so most people in the west are uninformed about the truth of the situation.

Such leaves the impression Israel has become merely a hate-substitute target for that of the Jewish People.

    Greed.

They are planning to annex the entire West Bank. Otherwise, why would they build settlements in a disputed territory and populate Jews in that area ?

Also, Nearly half of Israeli Jews say Arab citizens of Israel should be expelled or transferred from Israel, including roughly one-in-five Jewish adults who strongly agree with this position.

Russia is allied with Palestine. We shouldn’t get involved.
