I had major surgery last year. What my nurses were doing, no maid could ever do. They weren't cleaning the room -- that was for the cleaners to do -- or serving meals-- that was for kitchen staff -- or anything else that maids do. They were, instead, monitoring my medical condition, providing medication, using technology to check my vitals and record information, taking blood, etc.
Two of my nurses had master's degrees on top of their BSNs and RN status. One was a specialist in post-operative recovery from the specific surgery I'd had, and she spent a lot of time with me discussing my recovery process.
So, dear, what are the "similarities"?
