Given the level of sound from the generator I believe it would not be to disruptive.?

    That depends a lot on what you will be doing while the generator is running. Going about your daily business it may be fine. If you are trying to sleep some pretty tiny sounds can be disproportionately disruptive.

    I agree, loud and annoying but during an outage, close the windows.

    Depending on the location and the type of generator, it could be less disruptive than your refrigerator kicking on.

    Honda inverter generators are very quiet. Most others..... well, they are basically lawnmower engines, and have to run at high enough speeds to get the proper voltage from the generator head. I have one that is tolerable, but I certainly would not run it in a campground at night.

      MOST generators are FAR quieter than an electric lawnmower.
