Definitely. Especially when they misspell it, ie; Brooklynn, Bostyn, Londyn, Kairo etc. There are exceptions, obviously, like Florence, Vienna, Lyon, Jasper, Carolina, Francisco etc. But most location names just come across as so trashy, and a sad attempt on the parents' part to seem 'exotic'.

Neither, they sound like stripper names. Oh and I had an Omalette for breakfast. Remember your kids are saddled with these names for the rest of their lives. Other kids are cruel and if you want to name them something odd, then you better make sure they can handle the teasing. Kids have enough hurdles in life, don't give them another one. Normal up on the name.

Jamaica Rose. No offense intended with this but Omalette makes me wonder if I want a side of bacon or sausage, with wheat or white toast.
